Brew 80 is an easy to use clarifier for
small craft breweries with a working
capacity of 10-50 hl/h. Alfa Laval delivers
the solution as a fully equipped
separation module ready to install. Features
include the fixed discharge volume
and high accuracy in solid discharge
volume. Solid discharge is triggered
either by timer or control panel
button. Designed for craft brewers, the
module is ideally suitable for clarification
after fermentation and after maturation
as well as for pale beers.
Special features of the separator
bowl
The special geometry of the bowl ensures
gentler acceleration for shearsensitive
agglomerates and particles.
Combined with the special disc stack
design, these significant improvements
of the fluid dynamics lead to
maximum separation efficiency and at
the same time reduce power consumption.
The paring disc design and the
hermetic seal reduce oxygen pickup to
a minimum and prevent loss of volatile
aromas or CO2.
Standard design
The separator with all its auxiliary
equipment is mounted on a stainless
steel skid. The Brew 80 system includes:
• Feed valve that is automatically
closed when not in production mode
• Sight glasses at both inlet and outlet
• Sample valves at both inlet and outlet
• Flow meter
• Pressure indicator at outlet
• Regulating valve for back pressure
adjustments
• Water tank with integrated pump for
constant operating water supply
• Solenoid valve block for addition of
operating water and solenoid valve for
automatic flushing of bowl exterior
• Cover switch and vibration sensor
• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)
Optionally, a solids handling module
consisting of a collecting funnel and a
pump can be fitted to the skid. A standalone
feed pump can also be supplied.
