The 5-hl brewhouse
was set up
with its backside
facing the room:
full access to the
technology!
The filling plant
was installed in
an arena arrangement,
with plenty
of space in the
center to allow a
full view of the
aggregates in
operation!
Assembling and installing the
equipment
Another important point was the installation
of the plant. The brewhouse
was not set up with the operating side
facing the room, as is customary in
production plants, but with the backside
facing into the room. This gives
students and seminar participants a
complete view of the entire line path
and inherent technology of the brewhouse
– without sacrificing performance
and user-friendliness!
The filling plant was set up in an arena
configuration, with plenty of
space in the center. This means that
even with larger groups of students
and seminar participants, each unit
can be explained and observed by all
during operation. Furthermore, the
filling plant itself is just a two-person
operation.
Conclusion
Despite necessary concessions to
accommodate teaching and training
requirements – with the associated
increased space requirements – custom
solutions were found, in particular
through the selection of smaller
units and the willingness of suppliers
to cooperate. Even in our limited
space, it was possible to realize a
technical center that leaves virtually
nothing to be desired, both in terms
of teaching/training and the needs
of our clients. The units are to be also
suitable for customer orders and allow
the most flexible and comprehensive
use possible, e.g., for trial
brews with different raw materials
compositions.
The new Doemens Technical Center
is thus likely to be the most modern
technical center of its kind currently
in existence anywhere in the world.
With a properly plant configuration,
Doemens training courses can be optimally
supported. Furthermore, the
technical center will also be available
for industry customers to brew small
batches for experimental purposes.
